Passionate Ink is an independent not-for-profit organization for authors. We are dedicated to supporting erotic romance and erotic fiction authors and mentoring unpublished authors to become published. Entries to our contest The Passionate Plume should fit one of the defined categories on the Passionate Plume contest page.
Passionate Ink defines erotic romance as follows:
Erotic romance: Stories about the development of a romantic relationship through sexual interaction. The sex is an inherent part of the story, character growth, and relationship development, and could not be removed without damaging the storyline. A happily-ever-after (or happily-for-now) resolution is a REQUIREMENT for the story to be an erotic romance.
Passionate Ink defines erotic fiction as follows:
Erotic fiction: Stories about the sexual journey of the characters and how this impacts them as individuals. Emotion and character growth are important facets of erotica, however, the development of a romantic relationship is not essential. A happily-ever-after or happily-for-now ending is NOT an intrinsic element of erotica, though it can be included. Satisfactory endings are focused on the primary character(s) arc.
Works of steamy romance are welcome in our contest.
Although Passionate Ink ascribes to the above definitions of erotic romance and erotic fiction, we recognize that we are uniquely positioned to support authors whose works are categorized on the hotter end of mainstream.
Sexy Romance: Stories about the development of a romantic relationship which have frequent and explicit sexual situations. The sex isn’t an integral part of the plot (it could be removed or “toned down” without damaging the storyline), but greatly intensifies the romantic tension. A happily-ever-after or happily-for-now ending is a REQUIREMENT as this is a standard romance with hotter sex.
Our contests are not suitable for works that do not include emotion and character growth.
